Samantha has been part of some of the biggest blockbusters and some of the most memorable films in Telugu cinema. It all started with the film, Ye Maaya Chesave directed by Gautam Menon where she rose to instant fame and stardom as Jessie.
But not many know that Samantha actually signed on a Tamil film much before signing Ye Maaya Chesave. It was a film called Moscowin Kavery and it was in making for three years almost before getting released in 2010. This along with another film of her both turned out to be failures at Tamil box office and simultaneously she had big success in Telugu film making her an extremely busy actress in Telugu cinema.
After tasting such big successes back to back, the actress in mid 2012 got few lifetime opportunities. Samantha was at one point of time was slated to play heroine in the films of Gautam Menon, Mani Ratnam and Shankar. It was the ultimate line up any heroine could have dreamed off but unfortunately due to her ailment she had to drop out of a couple of films. But the luck was shining her way she escaped a great commercial disaster due to ill health and later starred in biggest Telugu hit. All this was fine but even after all these years the actress couldn’t make it big in Tamil due to some earlier bombs and casting issues.
The actress is once again going to be seen doing Tamil films after a long gap. This time she has chosen to be part of two big Tamil movies opposite two of the hottest Tamil stars Suriya and Vijay and directed by two of the top most Tamil directors Lingusamy and AR Murugadoss. Both the films are slated to release in the second half of the year. Will Samantha make her mark in Tamil films after all these years?
