Among the big summer releases, V and Nishabdham have taken the digital route after weighing in all the options and the chances of theatrical release. However, the films Red and Uppena have stood strong for a theatrical release only decision.

The time has finally come now. In the latest Unlock 5.0 guidelines issued by the central government the permission to open cinema halls has come. The government of India is going to resume theatrical releases with fifty percent occupancy.

The question now is will Red and Uppena take the daring step and be the first releases after months of lockdown. It will be ‘risk’ because no one knows if the audience is going to turn out for the movies. It is more concerning when the movies are small to medium budget and do not have any special attraction to make it compulsive theatrical viewing.

Red stars Ram and Uppena marks the debut of another ‘Mega’ hero, Panjaa Vaisshnav Tej. Both have good backing from the makers. They didn’t mind waiting, especially Uppena team were fixed for a theatrical release no matter how long. So, would they take the chance is the question on everyone mind?

Then there are many other films like Love Story, Solo Brathuke So Better etc. They were in advanced talks with OTT platforms. What would they do now is another curious thought to think for people? Watch this space to know the latest on Telugu movies as many twists lie ahead from now onwards.
