RRR is a film that is facing competition from Akshay Kumar’s Bachchan Pandey and The Kashmir Files. More than anything, the golden run of The Kashmir Files has already eaten away Bachchan Pandey and now RRR will be tested.
But as per the latest news, the makers of Bachchan Pandey have struck a deal with Amazon and re-negotiated for a four-week theatrical window for a whopping total amount of ₹80 crores. Initially it was 6 weeks but due to the dull collections, the makers have changed their plan.
Initially before the release, the trade predicted that Bachchan Pandey will create issues for RRR. Now that two weeks of the film’s OTT release has been advanced, RRR will have to bear Bachchan Pandey for still two weeks at the box office.
Though this will not make much of a difference, if RRR gets a blockbuster talk in Hindi, it will help in the long run for theaters and avoid clashes with a star hero like AKshay Kumar.
But looking at the way things are going, not Bachchan Pandey but The Kashmir Files is the film which can come in the way of RRR. Rajamouli is a big name in the country and we need to see if his film clicks and breaks all previous records.
