Will poorly animated Rajinikanth work on silver screen?

With each passing day the long wait to see a Rajinikanth film is getting closer to being over. Last time one saw the Superstar on screen was almost four years ago in Shankar directed Robo. One doesn’t need to remind the kind of hysteria the film went on to create all over the world. Four years later it is still the highest grossing Tamil film of all time. It was the same in previous two occasions as well when Rajinikanth was seen in full fledged role be it Shivaji or Chandramukhi.

Kochadaiiyaan (Vikrama Simha) although appeared stale courtesy the numerous delays, all thanks to one big hyped function has become the talk of the town all over. The film has become the hot topic in all online mediums thanks to the audio launch function. Presence of Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan added a great deal to the hype and positivity on the film. But all that seems to be undone post the theatrical trailer release of the film.

All the positivity of the music launch event gave way to lots of negative comments on the poor quality of animation in theatrical trailer. The makers had hyped that this would be a path breaking film which will break new grounds in animation for India and Indian films but the final output was far from being the best and failed to live up to the hype.

Now coming back to the initial point, Kochadaiiyaan (Vikrama Simha) is seen as a follow up film to Chandramukhi, Shivaji and Robo. It is going to get one of the biggest releases ever in various languages. According to makers it has been made at a budget of over 100 Cr. With so much at stake will the audience go and see the film that has a poorly animated Rajinikanth in it? Or will the mere star presence and the various technical dignitaries associated with the film be enough to lure the audience? How many of you are planning to watch the film in theaters?
