Will Magadheera Beat 21 Years Old RecordMegapower Star Ram Charan’s second outing Magadheera was a sensation among Telugu people. It has been many years since its release, but its record at grass root levels is bettered only by the two SS Rajamouli Bahubali films. Unfortunately, it didn’t have a solid non-Telugu market run as the makers didn’t put that much efforts back then. Why are we talking about that now, after many years?

Well, Magadheera has been released in Japan in the weekend that just passed. The second part of Baahubali had found genuine love among locals, and that prompted the distributors to pick up another mega-hit of the director, and that’s how Magadheera came into the picture.

As luck would turn out, Japan audience has once again shown immense love for the movie. It is reflected in the collections in the opening weekend. The three days collections are 985K. It is fantastic considering Baahubali 2 has collected 1.2 million in full run over a period of more than ten weeks.

Interestingly, the highest collecting Indian movie in Japan is Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Muthu with 1.6 million. Looking at the weekend performance and knowing that in Japan films usually have long legs at cinemas, there is a hope among fans that the 21-year-old record could be finally broken. It would be an unexpected development for sure, but a mind-blowing achievement nonetheless.
