So, earlier in the day, it was revealed that Mythri Movie Makers have locked Master director Lokesh Kanagaraj (also Khaidi) for one of their upcoming projects. We had reported that it would feature one of the top stars in Telugu cinema. The production house has dates of them all is the reason for it.
The top contenders for the biggie were Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and Pawan Kalyan. Well, it now looks like Superstar Mahesh Babu may be the front runner for the project. What’s more, an official confirmation could come as soon as the star’s birthday (August 9th).
Superstar Mahesh Babu has been doing well lately at the box office. His last three films (Bharat Ane Nenu, Maharshi and Sarileru Neekevvaru) have been his career-best grossers. However, they all are criticised for lack of variety and clichéd narrative and formula making.
The feedback has reached Mahesh Babu, which is why there is going to be a change in looks (at the least) for his next Sarkaru Vaari Pata. However, subject wise it could be another formula flick in a different backdrop.
Meanwhile, the contemporary stars of Mahesh Babu are rocking with pan-India planning and setting combo with top directors. In fact, Mahesh Babu right now has no ‘top director’ available to get on sets. The fans, though, are desperately looking to see Mahesh Babu in such a multilanguage biggie.
The lack of choices to pick could, therefore, be a blessing in disguise for Mahesh Babu. He might be inclined to take a chance with Lokesh Kanagaraj. But, what he might not guess is the extent to which fans would be thrilled if that happens. Watch this space as we will get clarity in a few days.
