It might not be officially ‘official’, but everyone in the trade and fans is aware by now that RRR isn’t arriving on January 7th, as announced. It is indefinitely postponed. As soon as the word spread like wildfire, many medium budget films have made moves to come for Sankranthi 2022. However, as time went by, a new buzz has started that the biggie Bheemla Nayak team is rethinking arriving for the festival. It is akin to a suicide mission, though, many say.
Yes, there is a strong buzz doing the rounds in the trade and industry that Bheemla Nayak starring Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati, will arrive for the Sankranthi festival as previously decided (before postponement). It looks like they might get to it again.
According to sources, only a few days of patchwork and background score work are pending for Bheemla Nayak. If the unit decides the date, it would work day and night and make it on time. It would be similar to the recent release Pushpa.
The problem, of course, remains with Andhra Pradesh and the increasing Covid-19 cases. If Bheemla Nayak is the solo Sankranthi biggie in the fray, it would be an easy target for the AP government. It would be a repeat of the Vakeel Saab scenario, literally. The rising cases are always a concern. It is why a Sankranthi 2022 release will be akin to a suicide mission for the film.
Having said all that, things are still in discussion stages only. A lot of mulling needs to happen involving multiple parties. We have to wait and see what decision is made ultimately.
Bheemla Nayak, the film carries immense buzz and would open spectacularly whenever it arrives. Will that be sooner (for Sankranthi) or later needs to be seen. Watch this space for more updates on this exciting development.
