Nandamuri Balakrishna has been in the industry for as many years as we can count. He is the senior most among the senior pros that we have today. And from since that time he has always been a potent and important box office star setting one benchmark after the other. It was his inconsistency that stopped him from being the numero uno but right fully so he was always the one who threatened the number 1.
That today even at this age, he commands such an opening and draws such a crowd is the testimony to his star power. That he took four years to show this power is the proof of his inconsistency. It has always been this way, however in the past he has had few noticeable films in between as well unlike now where he has nothing to show in between. But the important thing to notice is that amidst those inconsistencies the benchmarks that he had set up.
Nandamuri Balakrishna was the first among his contemporaries to reach the 20 Cr mark. Later he was also the first to reach the 30 Cr mark. While it is true that the biggest star among his contemporaries isn’t doing films any more it doesn’t take away the fact that he was the first to get to those milestones. Now the real question is can he do it again?
His latest release Legend is doing extremely well from the opening day till now. It is setting some real benchmarks and is going from strength to strength. So the question on everyone’s mind is, can the star cross the 40 Cr and once again be the first among his contemporary stars to reach to that landmark. If the actor achieves that he would be the first to conquer that 20 Cr, 30 Cr and 40 Cr mark and hence making him an undisputed legend for a forthcoming generation. The real test of the film would begin from tomorrow when things would be back to normal. Will the film continue its domination? Can it reach the mark? What do you think? Share us your thoughts.
