Tough times demand noble gestures like Tamil TV channel Star Vijay’s donation of Rs. 75 lakhs to its employees who were left with work for a month because of the lockdown.
Obviously, this is a huge help from the channel and the employees are happy and grateful for the gesture. These employees’ sole source of income had been the daily serials and programmes telecast on the channel. It’s good to see that the Tamil channel has compensated them well for at least a month.
This welcome gesture has made us thinking if at least a couple of leading Telugu television channels can take the precedent set by Star Vijay and provide salaries for their respective employees who are left without work for over a month, now.
Except for the news channels, all the other channels were mostly telecasting the old stuff and movies and hence, their employees ran out of work. If a TV channel comes out with such a noble gesture in Telugu, others might follow, eventually. What say?
