Will Allu Arjun overtake Prabhas with Race Gurram? There are a total of seven stars in Telugu cinema names of which we need not mention. These seven stars can be categorized into two tiers, tier one and tier two. Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR and Ram Charan belong to this category. Following them Allu Arjun, Prabhas and Ravi Teja belong to the second tier. We generally see that there is a huge competition among the tier one for biggest Telugu star currently as these are the stars who have given record openings and given grosser from time to time. But what many don’t seem to follow is that the competition is as severe in tier two as well.

Between Ravi Teja, Allu Arjun and Prabhas for almost a decade it was Allu Arjun who has been leading by giving the highest grosser from time to time and he was followed by Ravi Teja. In fact at a point of time Ravi Teja had the biggest hit among the three in the form of Kick. However with poor choices the actor was soon overtaken by Prabhas and since then there has been tough fight between Prabhas and Allu Arjun. Not just commercially the two are seen as competitors even online too like in Facebook where Allu Arjun is leading by a big margin.

The competition between Prabhas and Allu Arjun commercially has been very interesting with either the actors giving hits in pairs (Varsham- Arya , Chatrapathi-Bunny) or one actor clearly dominating other during the same time (Deshamuduru-Yogi, Parugu-Bujjigadu). Allu Arjun had managed well till Julayi but finally for the first time in his career conceded to Prabhas with Mirchi. With a most anticipated SS Rajamouli film up next Prabhas will surely stay ahead of him whenever it releases but the trade is interested to see the numbers of Prabhas films sans Rajamouli and this is where the actor’s films post Bahubali will come into picture.

If Allu Arjun overtakes Mirchi with Race Gurram directed by Surender Reddy once again in trade terms the actor will be ahead of Prabhas and Prabhas will have to out-gross the Allu Arjun film to stay ahead of him according to the trade. Race Gurram is also likely to release in February as well which means a comparison with Mirchi will be made no matter what. With Thaman’s music and Shruti Haasan’s glamour, can Allu Arjun once again go ahead in his race with Prabhas? What do you reckon the box office fate of Race Gurram is going to be?
