And now its official Allu Arjun starrer Race Gurram is the highest grosser of the year. It has overtaken the previous best Yevadu starring Ram Charan that released for Sankranthi earlier in the year. This hasn’t surprised the trade one bit as the writing was clearly on the wall after the stupendous second week performance of the film worldwide.
The next challenge for the film now is to be the biggest grosser of the year in Andhra Pradesh alone. Once again it’s Yevadu that has to be beaten to achieve this feat. It will however be much more difficult than the worldwide overhauling as Race Gurram was super strong overseas to get a bigger number worldwide. It will require super steady run for the next week and half at the minimum to go past Yevadu total in AP. If Race Gurram goes past Yevadu in the state what that also means is that it would go past the 50 Cr worldwide as well and in the process giving Allu Arjun his first ever 50 Cr grosser.
If and when Race Gurram crosses 50 Cr mark Allu Arjun will become the fourth hero after Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan to reach the mark. That would be a massive achievement for the star and will surely raise his stocks as star big time. With his upcoming film in the direction of Trivikram Srinivas coming later in the year Allu Arjun will have a memorable year for sure.
