The first weekend of Venky Mama is over. It has had a superb three days all over. The Telugu states numbers suggest a universal acceptance and liking for the movie from the general audience.
But still, we do not have the numbers of Venky Mama from the US. The update stopped all of a sudden on the premiere day. It was then expected that the collections could be added to the day one total. It has been the case with a few movies. But, even at the end of the weekend, we still do not have any clarity.
For the first time, after the tracking has become so transparent, a Telugu movie figure for the weekend has not yet been reported. It used to be the case nearly a decade ago. But, we have come a long way since then.
There is a talk that reporting for the movie has been disabled. It is not apparent if it is done by the distributor or if it’s an error in reporting. Whatever it is, the lack of reporting leads to ambiguous numbers being thrown around. It, in turn, leads to a lack of transparency, a plaguing issue with Telugu cinema box office updates.
