Why Salman Khan's sentence is suspended? The 5 years rigorous jail term sentence awarded to Salman Khan in the 2002 hit and run case was decided after trial for about 13 years but was dismissed in just couple of days arising the questions of vulnerable judicial process. The Bombay high court striking down the sentence will mean that it is rejecting it and the time that went in to the trial in the sessions court is sheer waste.

The judge while suspending the punishment made interesting comments, “It is not a case where the applicant is likely to abscond and both parties have no objection to hearing an appeal in a fast manner, so the sentence is suspended until an appeal is disposed. The jude even added that “We cannot take pleasure in seeing someone inside (jail) while his rights are being decided.”

However the heart wrenching thing in the entire issue is that the courts are so considerate about the rights of Salman Khan who obviously committed the crime but completely ignores the agony of the victims and their families. The next hearing of the case will be taken up in July. Perhaps the Dabangg star can even release Dabang 333 and Kick 455 before the case is finally solved. He may even die old as an under-trial
