Why National media ignored ANR's death news?

Akkineni Nageswara Rao was not just an actor of Telugu industry, but a cinematic legend of Indian cinema. But the news of his death was completely ignored by national media who didn’t do any special program on the icon, who passed away on Wednesday after losing his battle to intestinal cancer. Members of Telugu film fraternity expressed their grief over this matter and questioned popular media professionals such as Barkha Dutt and Rajdeep Sardesai.

Director Koratala Siva of ‘Mirchi’ fame via Twitter asked these media professionals why the news about ANR’s death was not covered on grand scale. Even debutant director An Bose felt the same and voiced similar concern over the lack of interest in the story of the death of an icon. Even writer-director B.V.S Ravi felt the same and supported it.

One wonders why the national media had ignored the news when ANR is very well popular throughout the country. Even Bollywood celebrities like Anupam Kher and Madhur Bhandarkar expressed their condolences via Twitter. But the media seems to have completely ignored the news.
