KGF 2 is one of the big-money acquisitions of Amazon Prime Video. The OTT giant sees KGF 2 as one of its cornerstone films and rightly so, given the kind of reception the film got at the box office.
But interestingly enough, Amazon Prime Video, which is usually proactive when it comes to orchestrating the earliest possible OTT release plans for its big-ticket acquisitions is remaining silent about KGF 2.
Amazon Prime orchestrated early OTT releases for its big-ticket films, Pushpa: The Rise and Radhe Shyam. Both these films premiered on Amazon just three weeks from the theatrical release. Same with Acharya, which is arriving on Amazon Prime just three weeks from its theatrical release.
But Amazon Prime is yet to make any noise about KGF 2. It has already been a month since KGF 2’s release and Amazon Prime is yet to make an announcement on the OTT release date of the film. Maybe the makers struck a no early OTT release clause with Amazon Prime Video in a bid to boost the box office prospects.
