As Indian Cinema soon completes its 100th anniversary, steps are being taken for its celebration. The film chamber has decided to host the event in Chennai between 26th and 28th of April. The reason behind the venue is that Chennai used to be the hotspot of film shooting. Until about the 80’s, most of the Indian cinema was concentrated in Chennai studios making it almost the origin place of Indian Cinemas. Although, today films are made in various other places corresponding to the language and the culture displayed in the film, the event is still being hosted in Chennai.
Several big stars of the industry are expected to grace the occasion which include Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Mammooti, Mohanlal, Ambarish and Chiranjeevi, among others. Plans are being made to also include Amitabh Bachchan and other stars of Bollywood to join the celebration.
