This year Sankranthi turned out to be great for Tollywood. Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy turned out to be profitable ventures for the makers. Especially, Waltair Veerayya turned out to be a big blockbuster due to the festive season, despite mediocre content.
The producers have realized the benefit of releasing a film during the Sankranthi season, and next year some of the biggest films are aiming to cash in on the festive fervor.
Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 and Shankar’s RC15 are top contenders for the Sankranthi 2024. Both are the biggest films in terms of budgets and expectations for their respective stars and makers, and the Sankranthi season is the most lucrative release period.
There are also talks that Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh in the direction of Harish Shankar and Nagarjuna’s next in the direction of Prasanna Kumar Bezawada are looking to release during the same season. Anil Ravipudi’s NBK108 is also aiming for Sankranthi 2024.
Sankranthi is the biggest festive season to release Tollywood biggies, but it can’t accommodate 5 big films. So it is sure that one or two films will prepone or postpone their release.
Nevertheless, it is going to be an exciting Sankranthi next year.
