A student leader by the name K Santosh Raj was arrested by the police on Thursday for distributing instigating pamphlets supporting the Sterile Copper protests in Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu. This 22-year-old student leader made headlines when he questioned Rajinikanth, “Who are you?”
He became the talk of the town when he embarrassed the superstar who came to console Thoothukudi massacre victims in May 2018. Then the young guy made news for not recognising the superstar and now, he is once again making headlines for distributing pamphlets against Sterile Copper. The residents of Thoothukudi district have been protesting against Sterile Copper factory for allegedly being responsible for environmental pollution in the area.
Santosh was one of the protestors who raised voice against the company and suffered injuries when the incident happened. He had this habit of intentionally not recognizing celebrities who paid visits to console the victims after the infamous massacre. Currently, his mother has been protesting for his release.
