We all know what Gunasekhar and Mahesh Babu did together in Okkadu, which to date remains as the biggest hit in the history of Telugu cinema. Now, the latest news is that the Hindi version of the film is finally taking shape and is expected to go on floors soon. While Arjun Kapoor is playing the lead, Sonakshi Sinha is paired opposite him.
The Hindi remake, which will be produced by Boney Kapoor, will be directed by debutant Amit Sharma, who recently shot to fame with the Google re-union ad. Initially, Abhishek Bachchan was supposed to be part of the remake but for some it didn’t come together and since Boney Kapoor had bought the remake rights long back, he has cast his son in the titular role played by Mahesh.
What will be interesting to know is where will the film be shot because it needs a milieu that will do justice to the script. I suppose UP or Bihar will be a good location to explore because it’s the breeding ground for faction in northern India.
