karan johar rajamouli meeting on baahubaliWithout any doubt the two most important films in director SS Rajamouli’s career are Simhadri and Magadheera. While the former established him as a star director, the latter got him separated from the rest and took him into a new league as a director.

Following them the third most important film in the director’s career is Eega. This film literally gave him wings and freed him from the star shackles. It gave him a national recognition and many considering it as his best film too. All this is fine but one gets a feeling that Rajamouli is giving a second hand treatment to his Magadheera. Could it be a planned decision to avoid unnecessary comparisons?

Recently when asked to mention about his best reviewed film besides Eega, the director mentioned Maryada Ramanna. Yes the film had good reviews but it still pales in comparison to the critical appreciation that Magadheera got. This is of course as ongoing trend which makes things a bit suspicious in first place. Has this downplay got anything to do with his Baahubali release and not wanting people to be reminded of his past epic? Or simply are the relations sour with Magadheera team?
