When we subtly compare Varun Tej’s performance in his previous movie ‘Tholi Prema’ as an architect and his newly released movie ‘Antariksham’ as an astronaut, there is a feel of repetitiveness in his act. Though it seems to be okay for now, the mega hero needs retrospection, for sure. There had been a curiosity around the movie as the first space thriller in Telugu, a very rare one even in Bollywood.
Performance will be a crucial thing for these kinds of movies and Varun Tej’s act could have elevated the role if he had shown more progress with regard to his acting talent. The movie opened to a mixed talk as the director was more into the technical things than working on the emotional connect that could have served the purpose. We also felt that it’s time Varun starts introspection.
There is no denying the fact that VarunTej has shown a lot of improvement in ‘Kanche’ and ‘Fidaa’ when compared to his initial performance. However, he still needs to grow as an actor for the kind of roles he chooses. Nevertheless, it’s a good thing that he is trying different things. By the way, Varun Tej will be reprising a boxer’s role in an upcoming sports drama to be directed by debutante Kiran Korrapati.
