We've lost a star - Kamal on ANR's death

Reacting to the news of Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s death, Kamal Haasan said that we have lost the brightest start he has ever known. Kamal, who couldn’t attend the funeral of ANR, said in a condolence video circulated to media that he considered the icon his spiritual guru and that he had left a lasting effect on him.

In his statement, Kamal said, ANR was my spiritual guru. He was my guru not just in acting, but as a rationalist when I 16, working as an assistant, he spoke to me once. The effect of which has kept me intact as a rational person for this long. As a star he has seen three generations. Till the moment he left us, in my eyes, he was a star. We’ve now lost a star. The sky will be bereft of the brightest star I have known who spoke Telugu, Hindi and Tamil.

ANR passed away on Wednesday due to intestinal cancer. According to his family, his last rites will be performed on Thursday at Annapurna Studios. Thousands of people, his fans, have come and assembled at Annapurna Studios to bid adieu to the legend.
