NTR has three blockbusters to his credit delivered by director Rajamouli and among them, one movie happens to be ‘Simhadri’. How did writer Vijayendra Prasad get the idea for the story of this movie?
Revealing the fact, Vijayendra Prasad said that he was inspired by Kamal Haasan and Sridevi starrer ‘Moondram Pirai’ (dubbed as ‘Vasantha Kokila’ in Telugu). The movie had a sad ending in which Sridevi who regains her memory forgets Kamal Haasan who nurtured her when she lost memory.
If this point is taken as the interval point, how can he cook up a story? That was Vijayendra Prasad’s idea and then he came up with ‘Simhadri’ story like an extension to Kamal Haasan’s critically acclaimed movie. Ironically, ‘Moondram Pirai’ is a classic and won a lot of critical acclaims and considered one of Kamal’s best movies and ‘Simhadri’ was a commercial entertainer.
