The Vijay Deverakonda’s first pan-India film Liger will have its release date announcement tomorrow. It is the last such film to still not announce its date along with Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam. But, now it comes earlier. Will it throw a surprise, or does it have a target?
As is with pan-India film, it has to look for a date with an open window across all Indian industries. In that case, it gets limited options with dates already locked. The ones remaining are in the second half of July and the first week of September.
If it is the second half of July, Liger has to deal with KGF: Chapter 2 and Radhe Shyam. It would, therefore, be an unlikely possibility. The next option means it clashes locally with PSPKRana movie in September. This could happen considering no competition in other languages. But, locally, it would be an issue.
Keeping all these in mind, it will be a tricky decision to make. We have to see if Liger throws a surprise.
Puri Jagannadh directs Liger. It comes with the caption ‘Saala Crossbreed’. It will be the biggest movie in his career, so far, concerning the budget and release.
Ananya Pandey is the heroine opposite Vijay Deverakonda in the movie. Karan Johar’s Dharma Production is the production house. Liger will release simultaneously in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
