The Tollywood industry was reeling from disasters in the months of June and July. But August has come as a breath of fresh air with consequent successes like Bimbisara, Sita Ramam, and now Karthikeya 2.
After the disastrous month of July, everyone was expecting Vijay Deverakonda to bring the audience back to the theaters with his much-awaited film Liger.
VD fans were expecting that Vijay would take the credit of reviving the theatrical business on August 25th with Liger. But Nandamuri Kayan Ram took the credit with Bimbisara.
Bollywood is also suffering the worst phase right now, and even big event films like Laal Singh Chaddha turned out to be non-starters. Liger is releasing with a great buzz in Hindi as well. So Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger was expected to end the curse on Bollywood.
But looking at the phenomenal response to Karthikeya 2 in Hindi belts looks like Nikhil will also take this credit from Deverakonda.
Karthikeya 2 is recording packed houses in Hindi areas, and the shows are increasing with each passing minute. The film is in sync with the ongoing Hindu wave in the country that has helped the film garner tremendous reviews in the Northern parts of the country.
It is the next better-performing Telugu film in Hindi after Pushpa and RRR.
VD might not get the credit for reviving the film industry but let’s hope Liger lives up to the expectations and good times continue in Tollywood as well as Bollywood.
