For a while now, there have been rumors that Vijay Deverakonda and Puri Jagannadh’s Liger is a remake of Puri’s celebrated blockbuster Amma Nannda O Tamila Ammayi.
When asked about the same, Vijay straight away busted the rumor and gave an affirmative response.
“First of all, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi is one of my favourite films. If at all it had to be remade, everything should fall into place in perfection. But I can assure you that I’m not the guy who would do remakes. I wouldn’t do anything even remotely close to a remake,” Vijay said.
Vijay adds that Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi is based on the sport of boxing but Liger doesn’t even have the boxing angle and it is based on mixed martial arts.
Vijay’s response is indeed a strong counter to those spreading rumors that Liger is a remake of Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi.
As for Liger, the film is headed for release on the 25th of this month.
