Director Kodi Ramakrishna is no moreVeteran director of over 100 films, Kodi Ramakrishna, is no more. He breathed his last today. The director was admitted to hospital yesterday in Hyderabad after he complained of breathlessness.

Kodi Ramakrishna is a versatile director who has handled multiple genres of flicks in his long and illustrious career of nearly three decades. He arrived on the scene with a bang with the classic Intlo Ramayya Veedhilo Krishnayya starring Chiranjeevi. Later he went on to director several blockbusters and landmarks films for all other top stars (Mangammagari Manavadu with Balakrishna, Satruvu with Venkatesh) as well.

The association of Kodi Ramakrishna with Shyam Prasad Reddy was a particularly special one as they went on to deliver path-breaking and trendsetting films like Ankusam and Ammoru. The former was a hard-hitting cop drama whereas the later set the trend for devotional flicks with graphics.

Kodi Ramakrishna has been bestowed with Raghupathi Venkaiah Award by the state government in the year 2012. Nagarahavu, released in 2016, was the last film of the director. May his soul rest in peace.
