When a period drama is in the making and if the titular role happens to be that of a lady protagonist, a seasoned actress with a lot of grace, acting skills and great screen presence are needed to carry the entire burden of the title on her shoulders.
Is Disha Patani who made her South debut with the Tollywood movie ‘Loafer’ alongside Varun Tej suitable to play a role which needs the above-mentioned attributes in a period drama? According to several reports, she was roped in for playing the title role in ‘Sanghamitra’ replacing Shruti Haasan who chose to walk out of the movie.
Glamour and dance wise, Disha Patani is okay. But, can she really carry a role like Sanghamitra, the warrior queen in the lines of ‘Rudramadevi’ of the Kakatiya dynasty. The official announcement wasn’t made on her selection and let’s wait and see if there would be any change.
