Naga Shaurya’s Varudu Kaavalenu and Akash Puri’s Romantic have released last Friday at the box office. Both the films have garnered decent expectations due to various reasons but it turns out like both the films have failed to impress the audience.
Varudu Kaavalenu performed a bit better in the United States, even though it’s not a big number to boast ($250 K) and Nizam but was a big disappointment elsewhere. Even in the two areas where it got a decent start, the movie is not a breakeven venture. The movie could even recover 50% of its investment.
The case is a bit different for Romantic. The movie has got a better opening than Varudu Kaavalenu surprising everyone. Due to its Youthful content, it has attracted the masses in the first weekend. But it had to settle only at a little over 60% recovery. It did not survive in the week days.
With Diwali releases – Peddhanna, Enemy, and Manchi Rojulochaie coming up for this weekend, there are no chances of a better show in the second weekend. So, better luck next time Naga Shaurya and Akash Puri. Having said that Varudu Kaavalenu is a bigger failure due to the high costs involved.
