Valimai Postponed; Cinema Halls In Tamil Nadu To Seize Operations? Here comes a disappointing update for Tamil superstar Ajith‘s fans. As per reports, the government of Tamil Nadu has decided to shut cinema halls across the state in view of the spike in Covid cases. The chief minister’s office is likely to issue a public statement on the same. A new set of Covid-related restrictions will be passed by the chief minister, MK Stalin shortly. As a part of the new restrictions, cinema halls across the state will have to shut down effective immediately, say reports.

If the government does order cinema theatre managements to seize operations, it can be deduced that Ajith’s Valimai will be postponed indefinitely. We sincerely hope that doesn’t happen as Valimai is one of the most anticipated Tamil films of 2022 and it is expected to set the box office on fire this Pongal season. All we can do is hope the ‘postponement’ speculations are baseless.

The other day, the makers of Valimai released a new set of posters, publicizing the film’s release in Telugu and Hindi. These posters had the release date – 13th January imprinted on them. Now, all the focus is on the chief minister’s orders.

The Tamil Nadu government had recently ordered 50% seating capacity regulation at cinema halls in the state. The makers of Valimai braved the same and went ahead with the release plan. But there will be major changes to the release plan in case theatres are ordered to shut operations effective immediately.

Valimai is an action thriller directed by H Vinoth. The film has Ajith Kumar, Karthikeya, Huma Qureshi, and others in important roles. The film is funded by Boney Kapoor.
