USA: Struggle Started for BreakevenOn Wednesday, Thalapathy Vijay‘s Beast started its international rollout with a decent $850K opening day in the USA. Generally, North America is not a strong performer for Vijay, so such numbers coming from a weaker territory can be appreciated.

But the latest figures suggest that Beast has fallen like a pack of cards on its second day. Going by its pace, it looks like the Vijay-starrer will gross around $100k on its second day in the US. The poor reviews and the dismal response from the audience are said to be responsible for the downfall in collections. Beast had good pre-release hype, which resulted in good premiere sales; otherwise, the scenario would have been much worse.

Beast has to collect around $1.5 Million to reach breakeven, but after such a drop on day two, it looks like Beast will have to struggle a lot to achieve breakeven.

The film has done well in territories like Malaysia, Sri Lanka, the UK, Singapore, Australia, and Europe. Beast missed big business on day one in the Middle East due to working day release in the month of Ramzan along with no release in Kuwait and Qatar.

The latest reports from trade circles suggest a huge drop in Indian collections as well. Tough times ahead for Beast.
