There are two things to understand here. First, we look at the Indian markets and then the overseas, which is mostly specific to the US. Until twenty hours before, Kaala was supposed to clash with Avengers Infinity War domestically as the US release was slated to happen on May 4.
But things have taken a turn now. Even in the US, the most awaited Infinity Wars has been preponed for an April 27 release. So, while it wasn’t a big issue earlier now, it has become a thing of concern. Domestically there is still no problem as Tamil version will do all the talking in Tamil Nadu. In the US it could be a problem and here’s how?
The best timings would be taken by The Avengers. On top of that, the screenings have to be adjusted with other local releases like Bharat Ane Nenu, a week before and Naa Peru Surya a week later. It means a Kabali like release would be difficult. Or imagine the movie getting a Kabali like talk, sustenance on similar level could be impossible.
The biggest issue overall is again multiple releases and high prices. Avengers Infinity Wars would eat into prime timing, and that is the worrying factor for distributors. Let’s see how everything pans out.
