A Us based construction management firm had admitted paying bribe to the tune of several crores to Indian officials to win two major water developmental projects in Goa and in Guwahati. The company agreed that it had paid a bribe of $976,630 for a Goa project which also includes to a Minister.

The company had made similar illegal payments to officials in India, Indonesia, Vietnam and Kuwait to secure government construction management contracts. The company however was pinned down by the Department of Justice in US.

The company was slapped a fine of $17.1 million to resolve the charges. Besides the fine, the company’s top brass will also need to serve some sentences which will be awarded to them on November 5th, 2015.
