Is the release of the Mega Multistarer project RRR affecting the numbers of Radhe Shyam in the US? One can’t help but feel that way looking at the pre-sales of both the movies.
First of all Radhe Shyam and RRR are both massive Pan-India projects from the Telugu film industry. Both are made on never seen before scale with grand visuals. One can even say (based on the trailer) that Radhe Shyam visually outdoes RRR, as well. But, when it comes to bookings, the Prabhas starrer is attracting a normal biggie response.
Radhe Shyam has everything going for it to appeal to the US audience. The ‘star’ cast, grand making, a perfect release, long gap since a ‘Pan-India’ biggie, and yet the numbers aren’t adding up.
The fact that both RRR and Radhe Shyam have opened advances simultaneously, and that RRR is twice that of Radhe Shyam suggest that a fair section of people are picking one among the two, and it’s not Radhe Shyam. The overwhelming combination factor of SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR and Charan is clearly showing its impact.
