The-Breakeven-Marks-For-SN-And-AVAfter a long lull period post the Dussera release, October 2 to be precise, Telugu cinema in the US has finally shown some signs of life with the big December releases. However, the real test awaits in the upcoming Sankranthi season when big ones arrive. Here we take a look at the two Telugu biggies, Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

Sarileru Neekevvaru is the biggest release in the US after a long time. It stars Superstar Mahesh Babu, the top brand in the US. The distribution is also done by lucky hand Great India Films. Together, the combo has delivered many blockbusters in the US. Anil Ravipudi, the director of F2 (a blockbuster in the US), adds the additional positive factor.

Naturally, the price has been quoted high. The rights have been snapped for 12 Cr worldwide. It is 9 Cr in the US. The breakeven figure for Sarileru Neekevvaru is approximately 2.8 Million to 2.9 Million. It basically needs to be the second-highest grosser of the star, at the least to be a winner in the US.

When it comes to Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, the brand dominating is Trivikram Srinivas. His combination with Stylish Star Allu Arjun has been a winner in the US. The last two movies proved to be big grosses for the star at the respective times.

Blue Sky Cinema, an experienced distributor in the US, bagged the rights of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo at a reasonable price. Under normal circumstances, it (the amount of 6 Cr) would be fine, but here we have to look at the clashing aspect. A 2 Million gross for break-even in this scenario would be a fantastic performance. That’s where the Trivikram factor comes into play. A performance similar to the last two outings would make Ala Vaikunthapurramulo is a profitable venture for everyone.
