As many might know, Valmiki stars Varun Tej in the lead. It is a remake of cult Tamil movie Jigarthanda. The role that Varun Tej is supposedly playing is that of Bobby Simha from the original. To those who are unaware, the actor won National Award for the part. And it is a negative character in the movie.
Imagine an emerging hero pick a negative role, let alone from a film family currently? It is the reason why Valmiki is a first of its kind of challenge for everyone involved. Director Harish Shankar has previously shown that he is adept at properly handling the remake with all nativity changes in Gabbar Singh. If he can repeat the same magic by keeping the same character arc and story and not disturbing it entirely, Valmiki could be game changer concerning the characters picked by star aspirants.
But first, let’s wait for the entire cast to be in place and then see who is doing what. Valmiki, despite being a remake of the somewhat old film is an exciting prospect without any doubt for the reasons mentioned above.
