Rana-baahubali-interviewOne thing Telugu Film Industry is looking forward to is for the history it would be creating in Indian film history with the upcoming magnum opus ‘Baahubali’. While we as audiences are restless for the wait, the difficulty factor in canning and post production work for such a fictional period film to be able to cater to the tastes of present day audiences is a real challenge.

Moreover ‘Baahubali’ is a bilingual and the actors have to speak in chaste Telugu and Tamil, that anyhow takes time to get it right and if that isn’t enough, for Hindi version, the closeup shots had to be reshot to get correct lip sink. And coming to the visual effects, Rana reveals that atleast 15 to 18 companies are working on the film in US, China and Korea.

Well that isn’t easy either. If the visual effects for a shot aren’t to the satisfaction of the makers, redoing them and working on the shot again takes atleast 20 days. That could count on the postponement of the film’s release many times. And coming to the lead actors, it has been more than 250-300 days of shooting wearing elaborate costumes, maintaining the bulky look and intense physical training for war scenes, sword fighting, horse riding etc etc.

Inspite of all this, Rana and other lead actors are proud to be a part of such a big film that was never made in any of South languages till date because very rarely an actor gets such an opportunity to work in a game changer movie like this which would make them boast to be a part of such film in the years to come or for the generations to come like in the case of ANR-NTR ‘Mayabazar’. Rana doubts whether such a film will be made in the next twenty years.
