June will witness the introduction of 3D trend to Telugu cinema. Two 3D movies – Allari Naresh’s Action 3D and Kalyan Ram’s OM will be releasing early June. But the real big question is what is the economic viability of this technology. It is a known fact that not many theaters in the state are equipped with projectors which can screens 3D movies.
The other big question is will the regular mass masala entertainers will appeal in 3D. Even in Hollywood, fantasy and Sci-Fi movies worked in 3D and regular commercial movies failed to impress audience. Several trade analysts say the makers are doing it for pride than with commercial motives. It has to be seen how Action 3D and OM work in 3D!
