KCR’s lash out on TV9 and Andhra Jyothy in Telangana Assembly may have just caused a life threat to the channels. Telangana Cable network MSOs President Subash Reddy announced that the telecast of the channels in Telangana will be stopped from Sunday evening. From the reports we got by the time we published this article, the channels are available to Telangana viewers.
However there are mixed reactions all over in this issue. While few say this will only amount to annexing the freedom of press and others say it is the right medicine for media to remind about values and responsibilities. Some of the criticizers of TRS are saying this is only an example of how things are going to be under this government.
In one of the episodes of Bullet News program of TV9, the channel made a mockery of TRS MLAs struggling to read the oath statement. The channel used several objectionable words in describing the event. And in the case of Andhra Jyothy, KCR alleged that the channel is spreading lies about Telangana government and is trying to defame it in the people.
