Khammam is one of the tough nuts to crack for the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti. After the Hyderabad and Rangareddy in the last elections, TRS struggled to make its presence felt in Khammam. However with admission of the then TDP Senior leader Tummala Nageswara Rao in to cabinet, every thing changed.
Tummala brought along with him all the local bodies leaders of TDP and made TRS win the Khammam seat. For this seat, all the opposition parties – TDP, Congress and Communists came together but could not stop TRS’ juggernaut.
Khammam is the weakest seat of TRS because it has only 6 votes here originally. But the ruling party managed to get 313 votes. All the opposition parties put together managed 279 votes here. This win will consolidate Tummala’s position in TRS.
