Trivikram's #2 Position Under ThreatSS Rajamouli is undeniably the numero uno director in Telugu cinema. Now, the discussion is about the possible No.2 director in Tollywood.

We must say Trivikram and Sukumar are the two contenders for the No.2 director spot in Tollywood.

Needless to say, Trivikram is miles ahead of Sukumar in terms of success ratio and box office numbers. He has big-money blockbusters like Julayi, Attarintiki Daaredi, S/O Satyamurthy, Jalsa, Ala Vaikunthapurramulo, and others in his filmography. His success ratio is much better when compared to Sukku.

Barring Arya, Rangasthalam, and Pushpa(pan-India belt), Sukumar didn’t have too many credible winners at the box office. His films like 100% Love, Nannaku Prematho, and others were mostly average grossers, if not flops.

But given the current pan-India trend, Sukumar is marginally ahead of Trivikram. His Pushpa was a big hit in the Hindi belt and on OTT. The entire Indian cinema is looking at Pushpa 2 now. He has mastered the raw and rustic narrative as has been the case with Rangasthalam, Pushpa, and also Pushpa 2.

On the other hand, Trivikram hasn’t kept himself updated with the pan-India trend. He relies on family oriented narration and dialogues, that works in Telugu but might not appeal to larger sections. This is where Sukumar is gaining upper hand with his rustic narrative.

Trivikram’s next film with Mahesh Babu, SSMB28 is still a Telugu film, while Sukumar’s Pushpa 2 is keenly awaited in the pan-India belt. If Pushpa 2 becomes a raging hit in pan India circuit, Sukumar will claim the No.2 post, thanks to pan-India market advantage.
