South-India actress Trisha Krishnan seems to be very aware and active in the field of animal rights. Just the other day, Trisha wrote a letter to the government requesting for action to be undertaken to release 70 beagles, who have allegedly been imported from China as ‘pets’, but most probably are to be used for some experiments.

In her letter to the special secretary in the ministry of environment and forests, M.F. Farooqui, Trisha wrote, “It is my understanding that it is, rightfully, illegal to import animals who are to be used in experiments under the false premise that will go to loving homes.

“If you don’t intercede, these dogs are likely to be injected with or force fed chemicals, experimental drugs or pesticides until they become very sick and die,” she added.

Other celebrities like Celina Jaitly, Neha Dhupia, Sonu Sood and Kunal Kemmu are also supporting the request by posting this message on twitter, “Help PetaIndia save 70 beagles wrongly transported as pets to India for laboratory testing.”
