This is not the first time audiences felt that a newly released movie would have been better if the makers had reduced the movie’s length. Tamil mass star, Vijay Ilayapathy’s ‘Bigil’ is facing the same problem now.
Though some people felt that using Sports in this manner for the commercial angle isn’t right, it isn’t an issue. We can’t expect an art film from a mass star like Vijay and a message without commercial elements wouldn’t work for his image.
At the end of the day, a film is a film. The real issue is the length and dragging portions. They could have trimmed the movie easily by more than 20 minutes and could have spared the neutral audiences from an exhausting watch.
Fans on social media and netizens are asking the makers to trim the movie. Removing the portions that just added to the length might do some good for the film and improve its box-office prospects. Trimmed or not, ‘Bigil’ is a treat for Vijay’s die-hard fans, for sure.
