The Zac Efron movie Firestarter is expected to make around $5M-$7M at 3412 theaters. At 5 PM on Thursday, the previews saw $375K from 2,700 venues. The film’s production cost is estimated to be $12M, and critics have slaughtered the movie with a 25% recommendation on Rotten.

On Thursday, second place was Everything Everywhere All at Once, which collected around $478K for a running total of $43.7M on its seventh weekend.

The third goes to DreamWorks Animation’s The Bad Guys with $472K and a running total of $59.3M in its third week. The 4th position belongs to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 at 3,358, which saw the fifth Thursday of $320K and collected a total of $171.1M.

Superstar Mahesh’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata collected an estimated $310K on Thursday at 500 locations after a Wednesday premiere of $940K for a two day of around $1.25M. The film has slowed down after a superb premiere day because of mixed word of mouth.
