Top 10 Telugu Web Series Movies On Aha Video 2020After a soft launch in January, Aha Video App officially took off from Ugadi in March, earlier in the year. Aha is the first and, so far, only local OTT platform in the Telugu language. It started slowly, but as months passed, it has become very prolific. By the end of the year, it is strategically well placed to churn out significant content in the months ahead.

Here we pick the top 10 movies and series on the platform so far, for the year 2020.

10. Johar

The year 2020 saw many anthology films, Johar is one among them. In his debut, Director Teja Marni came up with a heart-touching drama showcasing how individual lives are affected by a desperate politician. The performances of Eshwari Rao, Subhalekha Sudhakar etc. will surely leave a lump in the throat.

9. Anaganaga O Athidi

The Kannada remake by Dayal Padmanabhan tackles the greedy nature of human being. Paayal Rajput makes her digital debut with the movie which presents her in an entirely new avatar with a different dialogue delivery. Once again, it is the ending that stands out with its hammer strong impact and message.

8. CommitMental

An official remake of the cult The Viral Fever series Permanent Roommates, CommitMental explores the psyche of modern lovers that fear a committed relationship. Udbhav Raghunandan and Punarnavi Bhupalam essayed the parts with relative ease.

7. Orey Bujjiga

Orey Bujjiga is a regular rom-com with silly comedy and entertainment we usually expect from them. Raj Tharun and Malavika are apt for their parts in this fun-filled movie directed by Vijay Kumar Konda.

6. Metro Kathalu

Metro Kathalu is based on a novel. It is helmed by Karuna Kumar who raised eyebrows with Palasa 1978. As the title suggests, it is set in a ‘Metro’, in this case, Hyderabad. The stories focus on four distinct worlds existing in this city. Each comes with a different emotion that evokes a sense of nostalgia and missing someone (or something) in the hurry-burry times.

5. Honeymoon

Honeymoon is easily the most instantly relatable series on the list for an average youngster. It is more so for the newlywed who could take out some neat sugar-coated message from it. The lead cast, subtle fun, music makes Honeymoon a pleasant watch.

4. Kotha Poradu

Kotha Poradu is one of the earliest success stories on Aha. It is the kind of content that got many attracted to the OTT platforms (other languages) in the first place. The uncensored language, the milieu’s natural flavour, and quirks (via the characters) are successfully explored here without coming across as forced. The casting and writing are where Kotha Poradu scores.

3. Bhanumati Ramakrishna

Bhanumati And Ramakrishna is a rom-com made with heart. It is why, despite its shortcomings, it shines. Naveen Chandra and Salony Luthra look apt for the part which is half the job done. The rest is taken care of by the writing.

2. Masti’s

Kotha Poradu was the earliest noisemaker for Aha for its content and execution. Masti’s did the same with notable names attached to the project. It is still one of the biggest original series to be made exclusively for digital platform in Telugu.

The Krish backed Masti’s about a bunch of urban people, and their struggles hit the right notes. The casting is also superb with names like Navdeep, Hebah Patel, Bindu Madhavi, Chandini Chowdary, Siddharth Gollapudi, Raja Chembolu etc. part of the show.

1. Colour Photo

Colour Photo undoubtedly is the most talked and impactful release on the Aha platform. It made a lot of noise for its story, casting choices (Suhas as the hero, Sunil as the villain), and music (by Kaala Bhairava). All in all, this Sandeep Raj directorial can be seen as a blockbuster debut online.
