Top 10 Telugu Movies (Films) 2017 CollectionNow that we have clarity on the final box office impacting movie of the year let’s take a look at the top ten movies of Telugu Film Industry, in terms of collections. The order is based on the shares of the movie.

1. Baahubali 2

Baahubali was not just an industry hit in Telugu, it was one for entire India. It is no more Non-Baahubali records in Telugu. The whole country is using similar terminology. The film has collected over 1500 gross and nearly 1000Cr share WW. In Telugu states, it is around 200 Cr, whereas WW is a little over 300Cr.

2. Khaidi No 150

Megastar Chiranjeevi shows precisely why he is called so, with his comeback film. There were many naysayers before the release doubting the star and his stardom due to the political fiasco. But the star shut everyone with the phenomenal numbers through Khaidi No 150 and that too in a competition where he scored double of the second best. The final share of the movie is around 104 Cr.

3. Jai Lava Kusa

The Young Tiger NTR starrer proved once again without a shadow of a doubt that when it comes to openings, the star is right up there with the best. The openings were a significant relief for the movie which riding on the holiday’s benefits posted a decent total in the end. The final share of the movie is around 70 to 72 Cr.

4. DJ

Duvvada Jagannadham (DJ) showed the increasing clout of Allu Arjun as a star. It had a below-par word of mouth, but the final numbers have a different tale to tell. The opening and extended weekend courtesy Eid helped the film a great deal in the final tally. It has collected in the range of 68 to 70 Cr.

5. Katamarayudu

Katamarayudu was a disappointment all around. The Pawan Kalyan starrer made the wrong choice with going for a non-holiday release, the final numbers suffered in the end. The openings, however, once again demonstrated why Powerstar is the king of openings. The final share of the movie is around 60 to 62 Cr.

6. Spyder

There were many disappointments in the year from top stars, but none was bigger than Spyder starring Superstar Mahesh Babu. The combination was like a once in a lifetime kind of deal, given the pedigree of AR Murugadoss and hence the bigger disappointment. It is among the greatest disasters of all time not just in Telugu films, but in whole India. The final number was under 50 Cr taking only Telugu share in comparison.

7. Fidaa

The Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi starrer directed by Sekhar Kammula was and is one of the most talked about movies of the year 2017. Very rarely we see a film doubling its opening week, and Fidaa was one of those collecting nearly 48 Cr. Sai Pallavi, more than anyone else becomes an overnight sensation.

8. Gautamiputra Satakarni

The Nandamuri Balakrishna’s landmark 100th film lived up to the landmark concerning the pre-release hype. Post-release it was a different case as the movie dropped quickly after the first few days. Once the Sankranthi festival was over, the Krish directed historical faded soon in Telugu states. The US run was superb though. Its collections are closer 50Cr, but that is due to the tax-free status it has got. The real value would be few crores less.

9. MCA*

The third Nani release of the year is likely to be his biggest success yet. The movie within the first week itself is going to reach or pass 30Cr. Even if it collapses entirely, it is likely to end as the highest grosser in his career overtaking Nenu Local.

10. Shatamanam Bhavati

It was the first big surprise of the year. The Sharwanand starrer opened with a low number but picked momentum big time with each passing day and ended up collecting nearly 30 Cr in Telugu states alone. It was the film which started the ball rolling for Dil Raju. It had both, critical and commercial success for the producer.
