There were four Sankranti releases this year. Now that the holiday season is over, the verdicts of all the movies are clear. There is no blockbuster movie or for that matter a Super Hit. The best case scenario for the better performing films is a break even.
The total combined business of all the Sankranti releases of 2018 would be less than the share of single film Khaidi No 150 which was the big festival release last year.
The last time Sankranti season had similar performance to 2018 was in the year 2011 where Mirapakay was the highest grosser against Balayya’s ‘Parama Veera Chakra’. The combined business of all releases was slightly more than Adurs that came the previous, and there were two other significant grosses. Similarly, despite the names of Pawan Kalyan, Venkatesh (Gopala Gopala), Director Shankar and Vikram (I), Sankranti 2015 was a disappointment. The very next year saw the business almost get doubled, another year later, it tripled.
All said and done, regarding loses, the year 2018 will standout for the disastrous results in all-time lists, and it is mostly due to one major film.Don't MissThree High Profile Joinings in TDPIf everything goes as per the plan, Telugu Desam Party may see three crucial joinings....Don't MissPic Talk: Telugu Girl Straight from HeavenOnly a few girls know the art of presenting themselves in the most desirable way...Don't MissPawan Kalyan Down With FeverJanasena President Pawan Kalyan who is in a Three Days Uttarandhra Tour is down with...Don't MissCan't Behave Like Newly-Married Bride - Mahesh's WifeMahesh Babu shared a cute message on social media sending greetings to his beloved wife...Don't MissAllu Arjun's Goof up Goes ViralAllu Arjun has this habit of giving ample stuff for making his unintentional comments and...
