In terms of the quantity of the films, Telugu Film Industry was in the second position according to the last year analysis. The top position was occupied by Bollywood. This year, Bollywood could keep up its position as Numero One producing as many as 340 films from 1st April 2015 to 31st march 2016.
But Tollywood slid down by one position giving way to Kollywood to take the second position producing 291 movies. Tollywood’s films’ count 275 made it slide to the third position in the list. Overall, India is producing more than double the number of movies Hollywood is making every year.
According to 2015-26 statistics, India has produced 1,902 films across the country in 37 languages making the Indian Film Industry the biggest industry with regard to the quantity of the films made here. Interestingly, South Film Industries are the ones which contribute the highest producing nearly 1000 movies per year. Wow!
