Filmnagar circles say Nadhiya is giving tough fight to Jayasudha in tollywood. Till recently, only Jayasudha was considered for glamorous mother characters but the film makers are now moving around Nadhiya who played key role in the success of Mirchi and Attarintiki Daredi movies. Producers are keen to pay even Rs.50 lakh to Nadhiya who reportedly took around Rs.25 lakh for Mirchi and Attarintiki Daredi. Rs.50 lakh is a not a big deal for producers as she could attract family audience in a big way.
In fact, character artists Sudha and Kavita used to get mother roles till recently But Puri Jagannath changed the trend by selecting Jayasudha as mother for Raviteja in Amma-Nanna O Tamilammai. Jayasudha proved her talent in movies like Kottabangaru lokam, Bommarillu and Sitamma Vakitllo Sirimallichettu. Pragathi is also given mother roles but Nadhiya’s entry changed the scene in Tollywood. Roja fame Madhubala was also seen as mother in Antakumundu….Aaatarvata movie.
Telugu Industry which used to select heroines and villains from Bollywood seems to have changed its route by selecting Nadhiya and Madhbuala for mother characters.. Their entry indicates Telugu mothers will be put to backseats at least for time being.
