Blockbuster Thuppakki starring Ilayathalapathi Vijay has been remade in Hindi by director AR Murugadoss himself. The remake titled Holiday stars Akshay Kumar in the lead with Sonakshi Sinha as heroine besides him. Today the first theatrical trailer of the film holiday was released and it has received a mixed response so far. The reason for the mixed response has nothing to do with lead hero Akshay Kumar though.
It is the absence of villain from Tamil original Vidyut Jamwal that was has chiefly disappointment everyone in the promo. Vidyut was a major plus as villain in the original and his performance as cold blooded villain helped elevate the proceedings very much. That effect is clearly missing in this remake. Another factor that is going against is the frame by frame remake from the original. These two factors have made many get the feeling of something amiss in the promo. We hope that the actual film has freshness to the new viewers and these short comings are not felt.
